ASTM A350 GR. LF2 Class 1 is a low-alloy carbon steel material specifically designed for low-temperature applications. It undergoes controlled heat treatment to enhance its mechanical properties, making it suitable for environments as cold as -46°C (-50°F).

Strict chemical composition control, including:

Sulfur (S) content < 0.01%

Phosphorus (P) content < 0.03%

These tight controls over sulfur and phosphorus content significantly improve the steel’s toughness and reliability, especially in critical services.
