Brazil may extend Anti-Dumping Duty on seamless steel line pipes from China

In September 12th, 2016,Brazil is likely to extend the antidumping duty on steel pipes from China.Brazil’s foreign trade board Camex is preparing a study regarding to extend duty over imports of seamless steel line pipes products from Chinese.

Brazil had implemented a $743 per Ton duty Chinese carbon steel seamless line pipes, for oil and gas pipeline applications on five years ago. The anti-dumping duty was valid for five years for the line pipes with diameter up to 5 inches, usually classified under HS code 7304.1900.

The Camex said that, termination of the anti dumping duty may lead to resuming of dumping practices and will also affect the domestic industry. So they would like to extend this antidumpling duty for the steel pipes imported from China.

Since it is not the new antidumpling duty on Chinese steel line pipes, the extending of antidumping duty will not bring a big effect to the market of seamless steel pipes.
