ASTM A335 P5 is a ferritic alloy steel known for its excellent performance under high temperatures. It contains chromium and molybdenum, which enhance oxidation resistance, creep strength, and thermal stability—making it ideal for use in power stations, refineries, boilers, and petrochemical plants.
Main Chemical Composition:
Chromium (Cr): 4.00% – 6.00% (enhances high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance)
Molybdenum (Mo): 0.45% – 0.65% (improves hardenability and creep resistance)
Carbon, Manganese, Silicon: Balanced for optimal mechanical properties
Mechanical Properties:
Tensile Strength: ≥ 415 MPa
Yield Strength (min): ≥ 205 MPa
Elongation: ≥ 30%
Hardness: ≤ 197 HBW
Application Temperature: Up to 600°C (1112°F)
