Since the visual inspection of the sealing surface of flange connection can only be carried out when the whole system is shut down, the inspection procedure should be as simple as possible, so the external corrosion should be eliminated first. If the machine cannot be shut down, it can only be detected by ultrasonic technology. In the case that external corrosion cannot be controlled, the process will be more complicated and accurate test results cannot be obtained. Therefore, external corrosion protection of flanges and fasteners is essential in order to monitor the entire system and provide effective and feasible quality control and repair procedures.
