80 Inch Pipe Fittings for Saudi NEOM Project: X52 Reinforced Tees by Haihao Group
When pipeline diameter reaches 80 inches, a branch connection becomes a substantial engineered component rather than a routine fitting. Haihao Group recently supplied 80 inch pipe fittings for a Saudi NEOM project, including equal and reduced tees with reinforcement pads.
The products were manufactured from API 5L X52 PSL-2-W plate. The project also specifies external 3PE coating and internal FBE lining, giving the finished fittings protection on both sides.
The supplied products cover three configurations, with the largest fitting reaching 80 inches and the wall thickness reaching 20.62 mm.

The two reduced configurations are designed for connections between different pipeline diameters. The supplied design uses a complete reinforcement pad around the branch area.
Why Reinforcement Matters on an 80-Inch Tee
A tee creates a branch opening in the main pipeline. With an 80-inch main size, the branch region becomes an important area for structural control.
For this project, Haihao Group supplied:
- 80″ equal tee with reinforcement pad
- 80″ × 48″ reduced tee with complete reinforcement pad
- 72″ × 48″ reduced tee with complete reinforcement pad
- Wall thicknesses of 20.62 mm, 19.05 mm and 15.88 mm
- API 5L X52 PSL-2-W plate
- External 3PE coating
- Internal FBE lining
This configuration allows the fittings to be manufactured according to the specific pipeline requirements instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all fitting arrangement.

The recorded specification limits are C ≤0.24, Mn ≤1.40, S ≤0.015, P ≤0.025, Si ≤0.45, Cr ≤0.30, Ni ≤0.30, Mo ≤0.15, Cu ≤0.50, V ≤0.10, Ti ≤0.04, Nb ≤0.05, B ≤0.001 and CEpcm ≤0.25.

The supplied record lists reference requirements of 360–530 MPa yield strength, 460–760 MPa tensile strength and minimum 20% elongation.
Coating for Long-Term Pipeline Protection
The 80 inch pipe fittings are supplied with 3PE external coating and FBE internal lining.
The external 3PE system is intended to protect the outer surface, while FBE is applied to the internal surface. For large-diameter pipeline fittings, maintaining coating integrity over a large surface area requires controlled surface preparation and application.
This dual coating arrangement is an important part of the finished product supplied for the NEOM project.
