Difference between galvanized and stainless steel
Galvanized steel and stainless steel are the most common methods of preventing pipe corrosion. There are the difference between them.
(1)Different concepts
Galvanizing refers to coating a layer of metal zinc on the surface of steel plate to prevent corrosion and prolong its service life. This zinc coated steel sheet is called galvanized sheet.
Stainless steel is a kind of steel which can resist weak corrosion medium such as air, steam, water and chemical corrosion medium such as acid, alkali, salt, etc.
(2)Different processing technology
Galvanizing is mainly to coat the surface of steel with dense zinc to prevent it from being oxidized.
Stainless steel is the addition of other metal elements inside the steel. It is the internal structural change that makes the product rust free. Such as chromium stainless steel, chromium nickel stainless steel and chromium manganese nitrogen stainless steel.
(3)Different uses
Galvanized steel strip products are mainly used in construction, light industry, automobile, agriculture, animal husbandry, fishery, commerce and other industries. For example, it is used for building roof panel, roof grating, kitchen utensils, storage and transportation of materials, packaging utensils, etc.
Stainless steel is mainly used in the field of construction. It is one of the strongest materials in the metal materials for construction. It is also used in the fields of food processing, catering, brewing and chemical industry with high requirements of sanitary conditions.
