This batch features 22 inch (DN550, 559.0×9.5mm) Sch20 fittings made from A516 Gr70 carbon steel. The A516 Gr70 welded elbow selection includes a 90° short radius elbow complying with ASME B16.28 where bend radius R=D, alongside 45° and 90° long radius elbows built to ASME B16.9 with R=1.5D. The material chemical composition is strictly controlled: carbon max 0.31%, manganese between 0.79–1.30%, phosphorus and sulfur each max 0.035%, silicon 0.13–0.45% to guarantee stable welding performance.
All A516 Gr70 welded elbow items are butt-weld type and manufactured by welded construction. Dimensional inspection and material chemical verification are performed on every fitting before packing. The dual standard combination of ASME B16.9 and ASME B16.28 allows the Latvian project team to select proper bend radii to optimise pipeline routing, saving installation space without sacrificing flow efficiency. Each A516 Gr70 welded elbow is marked with heat number, material grade and applicable standard for full material traceability.
