Classification of seamless steel pipes used in FPSO ships

Steel pipes applied on FPSO ships can be divided into welded steel pipes and seamless steel pipes.The seamless steel pipes for FPSO(Floating Production Storage and Offloading) ships usage are mainly used for Level 1 & Level 2 pressure pipes in piping system, boiler and super-heated unit of shipbuilding.

ASTM A53 Grade B seamless steel pipes

There are mainly types of seamless steel pipes can be used in FPSO ships:

A steel pipe made of a single piece of metal with no seams on the surface is called a seamless steel pipe. According to the production method, seamless pipe can be divided into hot rolling pipe, cold rolling pipe, cold drawing pipe, extrusion pipe, pipe jacking, etc. According to the section shape, the seamless steel pipe divides into the circular and the shape two kinds, the shape pipe has the square, the elliptic, the triangle, the hexagon, the melon seed shape, the star, takes the wing pipe many kinds of complex shapes.

The maximum diameter is 650mm and the minimum diameter is 0.3mm. According to different USES, there are thick wall pipe and thin wall pipe.
