“Ocean Petroleum 122” marks a milestone in China’s maritime prowess. This FPSO is ingeniously designed, comprising functional modules on its deck and hull, boasting a maximum diameter of approximately 90 meters. Covering an area equivalent to 13 standard basketball courts, “Ocean Petroleum 122” weighs 37,000 tons when empty, with a maximum displacement of 100,000 tons. Its remarkable capability to operate continuously at sea for 15 years without docking sets it apart. Supported by 12 mooring ropes, each extending 2,570 meters, the vessel will work steadfastly in waters as deep as 324 meters, akin to a blossoming “sea anemone.” It handles around 5,600 tons of crude oil daily.
