Items and methods of quality inspection for heat treatment

The technical requirements of heat treatment parts are different, the heat treatment process adopted is different, and the quality inspection items and methods are different. The quality inspection items and methods commonly used in heat treatment production are as follows.

1.Inspection of chemical composition.

1) spark identification method. Experienced inspectors and heat treatment workers in heat treatment production can identify the chemical composition of part materials by observing the spark characteristics of the material when it is ground by grinding wheel.

2) spectral analysis. Spectrometer can be used to measure and record the wavelength and intensity of the spectral lines of different elements.

3) chemical analysis. Chemical analysis in the laboratory, which is most commonly used in factories, can accurately determine the content of all elements in metal materials.

4) chemical composition analysis in microregions. The methods of chemical composition analysis in microregions include electron probe X-ray analysis, auger electron spectroscopy and ion probe analysis.

2.Macroscopic organization inspection and fracture analysis.

1) macroscopic test method. Macroscopical experience of steel is commonly used in acid etching methods, including hot acid etching test, cold acid etching test, electrolytic acid etching and so on.

2) fracture analysis. The analysis includes macroscopic fracture analysis and microscopic fracture analysis.

3.Microstructure analysis.

1) identification of fibrous tissue of steel after heat treatment.

2) microscopic inspection of steel.

3) inspection of nonmetallic inclusions in steel.

4) layer depth determination of chemical heat treatment.

5) microstructure test of gray cast iron.

6) commonly used nonferrous metal tissue analysis.

4.Mechanical property test.

1) hardness test of heat-treated parts.

2) mechanical properties test of heat-treated parts.

5. Nondestructive testing.

1) internal defect detection.

2) surface defect detection.
