The difference between pipe elbows and bends
The most basic difference between a pipe elbow and a bend is that the pipe bend is longer than the elbow at the same diameter.Pipte elbow is only the bend of a pipe, but pipe bend includes a straight pipe at both ends in addition to the bent part.
The R radius of pipe elbow is different from pipe bend:
Pipe bend: R>2D;Pipe elbow: R=1D~2D.The R radius of the elbow is the specified value, that is, there are parameter values in the standard. For example, the 10″ long radius elbow R is 381mm,the short radius is 254mm, and the bend is different, the same 10″ bend as long as R ≥3D as long as the pipe is long enough, such as 3D10″R is 762mm, as long as it is the actual working conditions, 800mm 1000mm 1005mm can be customized.
Pipe elbows and bends have difference process:
The pipe elbow’s process has hot push, cold push and hot press;the pipe bend’s process has medium frequency bending, hot pushing and numerical control bending.
The most commonly used elbows in pressure pipes are carbon steel alloy steel for hot pushing, and stainless steel for cold pushing. The most common process for elbows is medium frequency bending.
Pipe elbows and bends are difference in scouring strength:
The R of the elbow is different from the bend.
The strength of the small R that is washed when passing through the medium is definitely higher than that of the large R.
That is to say,the 1.5D elbow is more powerful than the 1D elbow. The bend is more resistant to scour and wear than the elbow.
