What is a reducer?

Reducer is one of the chemical pipe fittings, which is used for the connection of two different pipe diameters. It is also divided into concentric reducer and eccentric reducer.

Reducer materials include stainless steel reducer, alloy steel, reducer carbon steel reducer, reducer 20 steel q234,q345, etc.

Structural features of reducer

The eccentric reducer is made of carbon steel, which is expressed by multiplying the diameter of the large end by the diameter of the small head by the thickness.

Standard of eccentric reducer: national standard, American Standard, British standard and various non-standard high pressure stamping.

The shrinkage forming process of eccentric reducer is to put the tube blank with the same diameter as the large end of the reducer into the forming die. The metal moves along the die cavity and shrinks to form by pressing along the axial direction of the tube blank. According to the size of the reducing pipe, it can be divided into one-time pressing forming or multiple pressing forming.

The eccentric reducer is characterized by higher strength than carbon steel with the same carbon content, better toughness and plasticity, better weldability and corrosion resistance.

Application of reducer

1.When the flow rate of fluid in the pipeline changes, such as increase or decrease, and when the flow rate requirement changes little, the reducer should be used.

2.In the pump inlet, in order to prevent cavitation, need to use reducer.

3.In order to match with the connector of instrument, such as flowmeter and regulating valve, reducer is also used.
