What is a bevel end?

Bevel end is one of the most common pipe ends for the steel pipe and pipe fittings.Bevel End is abbreviated on drawings as BE.The bevel end has a lean angle with the pipe surface and suitable for butt welding joints.The bevel end also could be used for deburring the cut ends for safety reasons.

The standard angle of a bevel end is 37.5°,with 2.5° tolerance which means the angle should be between  35° to 40°.In some other standards,like Russia standards GOST,there are bevel end angles of 35°and 32.5°.
