AI helps FPSO reduce emissions

The international offshore energy facility and service provider Bumi Armada of Malaysia has recently selected the artificial intelligence technology of OPEX Group, a digital solution provider, to help reduce carbon emissions of an FPSO facility in the North Sea. It is reported that the emission AI software of OPEX Group will be deployed to the FPSO facility “Armada Kraken”, which is currently serving the Kraken oil field in the North Sea operated by EnQuest.

The FPSO “Armada Kraken” is refitted from a Suez tanker, with a production capacity of 80000 barrels per day and a storage capacity of more than 600000 barrels per day. It can process 460000 barrels of crude oil per day. Bumi Armada said that AI technology will provide real-time emission data, analysis and information, identify key opportunities to reduce emissions from the facility, and support the implementation of solutions and cost-saving strategies.
