The basic principle of forming bimetal composite pipe

Basic principle of bimetal composite steel pipe: the outer base pipe is responsible for pressure bearing and rigid support of the pipe, and the inner liner pipe is responsible for corrosion resistance, wear resistance and other functions.

According to the flow and pressure requirements of the transmission medium, the carbon steel pipes with different diameters and wall thicknesses can be selected for the outer base pipes. Hot dip galvanized steel pipe, straight seam welded pipe, spiral pipe, seamless steel pipe for low and medium pressure fluid transmission, seamless steel pipe for high pressure boiler, oil cracking, pipeline pipe, etc. The diameter is generally in the range of φ 20 – φ 1020mm, and the wall thickness is generally in the range of 2.5-50mm.

According to the chemical composition of the conveying medium, different corrosion-resistant alloys can be selected for the inner liner. It can be austenitic stainless steel 304, 304L, 316, 316L, copper base alloy, nickel base alloy, Hastelloy, titanium, titanium alloy, duplex stainless steel and other new high corrosion resistant alloy materials. The wall thickness of the inner liner can be designed at about 0.3-5mm according to the requirements of service life and welding process.
